One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star. -Nietzsche |

Pressing Into the World Pressed tight between thumb and forefinger, the foam earplugs yield and crush compressed into their most compact form. The small nub fits snugly into the ear canal and slowly unfolds into expansion. It aspires for its unhindered size, squeezing out and pressing into the world. It becomes like a fast acting opiate blocking out noise and irrelevant frivolity until you are all alone in perfection, made better for the absolute clarity. Excess sloughs away and seems silly, provoking laughter as it is pushed away and consciousness is immediately improved by its absence, with realizations that its daily tolerance is a ridiculous social habit of accepting what does no one any good. It yearns to reach the boundaries. Just a little blocked at first, then gradually more, and finally blissfully smothering all. What matters had nothing to do with the extraneous noise that so much likes to make of itself.
