Abandoned

No matter what we profess to believe in public for effect and assertion of persona, what we really believe is captured in incontrovertible usage of language that all using it unambiguously understand.

If he does that, may the good lord help him.
If he does that, he will be all alone, abandoned with no one to help him and many who will opportunistically take advantage of his weakness.

What happens to him is up to the lord.
What happens to him is whatever he can finesse from a barren situation where he is left alone to the craft of his own devices.

Praise Allah for his actions.
No one caused the event except those who did it, though it is gratuitously asserted by those who approve of the outcome that it is the judicial desire of the universe.

Just as those who talk about heaven or the world ending at a date in the near future don't have any actual belief in those, religious phrases are quaint things to say in public, like blessing someone after a sneeze to keep evil spirits away. How thoughtful to cast helpful spells against invisible forces!

Lazy use of language leads to a long maze of lies and fantasy worlds.
