One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star. -Nietzsche

Hellspawn

If everything was pleasant, we'd be too numb to realize it. Thankfully, we have the opposite, a diverse living hell of chaos and dysfunction, with only fleeting reprieves of sensibility and accord with nature. These offer a short moment of perfection before they are overtaken and trashed by the empty and disgruntled.

we have created hell on earth and think it normal

Someone has to be the one driving slow in the left lane to block the rest. If it isn't you, someone else will take up the role so it can be performed.

Someone has to buy junk food and fast food to push out better options and contribute to unhealth. The mission is misshapen bodies, compulsion, diabetes, and an image of hell, and there is still more that can be done to win this ideal.

Someone has to buy terrible pop music and make it the standard over far better offerings. Someone is bored and will watch inferior shows. Someone has to buy idiotic books from J.K. Rowling, John Grisham, Dean Koontz, Orson Scott Card, Dan Brown, and their Hollywood versions, instead of superior literature and films.

Someone is buying video games, encouraging the lifestyle of imaginary activity instead of actually doing interesting things in real life.

Someone is buying Chinese plastic at Walmart, driving mom and pop stores out of the community.

Those people aren't ideological. They are merely performing a role. They act as hellspawn would act, destroying what is good and replacing it with worthless inferiority as the new standard.

Nor are they terrible devoted. They are casual volunteers, destroying not from malice, but because it is easy and they are directionless. They are easily disuaded and shaken out of their zombified plodding, and another will take their place.

When they perform, we'd do best to smile at their lukewarm villainous depictions and realize that without such efforts, we'd be lost in a world that would seem an undisturbed paradise.
