One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star. -Nietzsche

Neither Interesting Nor Meaningful

Looking for what doesn't matter and finding plenty of it Google is pushing a new product and obedient consumers are intrigued. A video screen in the form of glass allows you to constantly acquire the latest trivial information. Want to read the summarily abridged digressions of confused minds? Are you up on what your friends are eating for lunch? What about the current celebrity headlines, overseas catastrophes, and which children were abducted five states away? Also the latest sports scores are in, and democratic politics still produces the worst results yet we pretend they can be reformed and one day will achieve the idealistic beneficial aims they promise. Now you can pulverize your consciousness with endless updates of the inconsequential.

Imagine what it would be like if TV actually were good. It would be the end of everything we know.
-Marvin Minksy

No new information is needed to live a great day, but pressure is exerted to reduce reality to an aggregation of information, making everything immediate and without purpose. This flat representation is semi-factual, but without any relevancy to your life. Some are willing to suck it down to never have a thought or calm moment, always reacting to the extraneous.

"Do no evil" was ambitious. At best, information is banal, the hidden evil of its pointless flood being the destruction of meaning.
