You Would Do Anything
Lament can be so empty when it misses the point.
"I would have done anything for you" is an empty ex post facto
promise of dubious value, too late, and now irrelevant.
Your anything might not add up to very much. It was
probably already measured, and fared poorly, counting against you.
If you had some amount of anything forthcoming, you either
didn't show much of it or that you would one day offer something
We can see from the split that what you think the other person wanted
was probably wrong, and not what you wanted. As you directed the
relationship toward your desires, the difference grew to make the
Kindness is good, but not sufficient. Other qualities matter, and
despite how kind you are, neglecting other aspects or showing that
you lack them makes you appear an undesirable long-term partner.
Being eager to accompany is good, but it's better if you're already
heading there. Those with will, spirit, and goals are already active
and are not looking for bored dabblers wishing to come along. Dead
weight is worse for travel than going alone.
You will need a better excuse than someone irrationally rejecting your
infinite world of kindness.
